Once we receive the deposit for a particular machine, it is considered gone, yours, sold, not available for sale to anyone but you. It broke all production records with over 22,000 units made. Only 2 years after the machine has been made, to commemorate this feat, in 1994 - 1000 units of special "The Addams Family Collector Edition" machines have been made (so-called "GOLD" edition). There is virtually no difference between "regular" The Addams Family pinball machines and "collector" edition ones except for cosmetic differences and some-add on quotes, sounds and graphics in the software. TXPinball routinely adds all the GOLD Edition sounds, graphics, quotes and software to every Addams Family machine we sell.
The cosmetic differences between them are: "Gold" (looks more like tacky screaming orange to me) pop bumper caps, "gold" THING box, brass plated ramps, "gold" lockdown bar, "gold" siderails, "gold" bookcase bottom and frame and golden screening of the artwork at the cabinet and backbox. One notable addition is also a "gold" plaque displayed near the coin door, that all the engineering team involved in making the machine signed and autographed. Apart from those, the machines are virtually 100% identical in everything, and they play, look, score, sound and feel EXACTLY the same.
TXPinball includes, adds, and converts all The Addams Family pinballs to the newer, more stable-less buggy and upgraded Speciall Collector Edition ("GOLD" edition) software and sounds. This is standard. Every Addams Family sold receives the gold software upgrade by default during the refurbishing process.
"The Addams Family" introduced the concept of a game-controlled flippers. It was the industry first and players all over the world loved it.
